To Mom and family and all others that mom is going to spam this
letter to,
Well here I am! Writing missionary letters.....weird! So the MTC
actually isn't as deathly hard as I expected it to be. It's doesn't feel like
jail except when we have 8 hours of class in one day lol. Yesterday the first
thing we did was we had practice lessons where all the new missionaries of this
week were put into three classrooms with the investigator sitting in their
"home" up front. It was really difficult to follow because everyone
had so many different ideas and they were throwing the topics left and right
bombarding the investigators with questions. I think if I were the investigator
I would have ran out of the room like Napoleon Dynamite all freaked out. One of
them got offended by something a sister said and it was so tense in the room
everyone just froze and it got really awkwardly quiet. My first companion is
Sister Ewell (pronounced like you'll) she is pretty chill, she's from American
Fork (like 10 minutes from here). The other companions of my district are
Sister Brinker Sister Dickson Brother Jenson and Brother Rolley. The first
night in my residence it was dead silent the entire night from when we got back
at 9:30 until the next morning. It was kind of hard going through that day with
the introduction to different investigators and just the new mission life and
then having to sit on my bunk with all these other awkward sisters in dead
silence and just soak it all in. I tried talking a bit but they're all pretty
reserved so we just did our things and went to bed quietly. That first dinner
on the other hand, that was so fun. We met these sisters from Tonga and they
were so funny. They had never heard someone speak Spanish before and they
thought it was hilarious how you had to use your tongue so much like rolling
the Rs and all that, they kept laughing and imitating Spanish (like in the
beginning of the movie Despicable Me when the minions are making fun of the
bubbles in the water tank) it was kind of like that x) ....I had to pause this
letter to help the Tongan sister get Doritos out of a vending machine lol. So
today (Friday) Sister Ewell and I have out first lesson with Anna. I know it's
just practice but I'm still nervous. We aren't allowed to say guys here. Like
hey guys, thanks you guys. We have to say hey sisters and elders. It's actually
harder than you think because we say guys so much! We got to meet out Mission
President and his counselors last night, they were all pretty funny. His first
counselor loved that I did auto shop in high school like he was all proud of me
for being more manly than the other elders in my district lol. Kylie I haven't
gotten your letter yet but I did however get a letter saying "you were
listed as one who has had a previous medical/emotional challenge" like I
need special attention because they think I'm going to go all psycho or
something x) The real mail doesn't come until later tonight so maybe I'll get
something later. Why don't seagulls fly over the bay? ..... Because then they
would be called Baygulls! (bagel) I learned that one yesterday lol Well love you
lots, I miss you all, especially Jaxon coming and scratching on my door at 3 in
the morning and Kylie sitting on my bed talking to me just so she can avoid
homework, and Jade walking by with her swim suit wedgie making weird faces
haha. I miss and love you all! Take care of mom and dad for me Jaxon!!!!!!
Sister Standing.
